We’re Goin to Boise OH YEAH! (Part One)

Jason’s sister, Nicole, moved to Boise a few years ago and has tried to get us to come visit ever since.  I know what you’re thinking because I thought it too.  Idaho?  The potato state?  Really?  What would you do?  Would there be restaurants?  Do they have running water?  Do they speak English?  My friends, Boise has all that and then some.  Here we are ready for takeoff to Christmas celebration #2.

Nicole picked us up from the airport and we headed straight to Bittercreek Ale House.  I didn’t have my camera with me so visualize a lamb pita served with fries.  I ordered the fries because I wanted to see for myself these famous Idaho potatoes I heard about.  Then I realized they export their potatoes and it’s prolly the same potatoes I eat here.  Tasted the same.  Confirmed.  This restaurant was located in downtown Boise which happens to look just like downtown Ft. Worth.  It’s very trendy.  There’s even a North Face store.  Inside the restaurant I happened to notice that every guy looked like Steve Nash.  Hippie heaven!!  Also, it was my first experience with Boise residents being ridiculously nice.  Our waitress went above and beyond to accommodate our table of seven people, even going next door to get more ketchup when we ran out.  The people of Boise, I noticed, were beer drinkin’, bike ridin’ hippies.  And I liked it.

The next day we ran errands all over town picking up our remaining Christmas gifts.  We really didn’t spend a whole lot of time in Boise because on day 3, we headed to McCall, Idaho for a little R&R leading up to Christmas Day.
