NYC Day 4 Brunchmunch

by sara on March 20, 2011

Three miles and a little over an hour later (bagel stop), we made it to Clinton St. Baking Company.

We were seated immediately in the corner by the window.  Seems like a prime spot right?  Nope!  Either we smelled or they forgot about us the entire meal because it was pretty bad service.  Luckily the food was delicious.

Oh hey coffee what took you so long to get here?

We ordered the Spanish Scramble: three eggs, chorizo, tomatoes, caramelized onions, scallions, melted Monterey Jack with hashbrowns and a biscuit subbed for the sourdough toast.

Check out the fresh preserves for the biscuit!  It was ridiculously good.

Also on the ticket was an order of blueberry pancakes with warm maple butter.  We were supposed to split these two things but Jason ended up eating most of the spanish scramble while I tackled most of the blueberry pancakes.  This would later prove to be a bad decision on my part.  While the pancakes were delicious, they sent my blood sugar levels to a new high.

Stay tuned for a post on walking around the city followed by a dessert stop that sent me into a food coma!

PS – Clinton St. Baking Co only accepts cash.  THAT INFORMATION WOULD HAVE BEEN USEFUL YESTERDAY!

Pancakes are like cakes without the fun of frosting.
