Fries, Thai and More Fashion Tips

After running to and from Brooklyn and doing a walking tour, we worked up an appetite for some fries and dipping sauce.  We headed over to Pommes Frites to get our eat on.

The fry chefs were super friendly and didn’t laugh at us when we didn’t understand how to order fries and sauce.

As Guy Fieri would say, that grease is driving the bus to Fry Flavortown!

Taters in raw form.

Pick the sauce that will be your boss.

We ordered the mango chutney and roasted garlic.  Both of these were mayo based which I didn’t realize going in.  So you’re basically dipping fries into flavored mayonnaise.  Knowing that, it’s pretty difficult to enjoy the meal completely.  Honestly, I did think the mango chutney was good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again.  I think the reason it is so popular is because they are open until 3:30am most nights and there are a bunch of bars in the area. If I was totally drunk I would crave fries and mayonnaise toos.  And I bet they would taste real good at 2am.

For dinner we hit up Room Service, a thai restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen.  I went with the larb gai salad which I would give a solid 5 stars.  The mint, thai basil, onion combo was perfect.

Jason ordered curry which I ate half of when he wasn’t looking (I would point at things in the restaurant then grab a spoonful).  This place hit the spot and was very reasonably priced given the high quality of food.

On our way back to the hotel we window shopped.  Take note ladies, diapers and jackets are in (with high tops).

This display reminds me of the time I walked my dog through the SMU campus.

I LOVE FRIES AND MAYO! Even when I’m not drunk. I think mayo is my favorite dip for fries (close runner ups include ranch dressing, ketchup & tabasco, and garlic aioli at fancy joints).
