Fajita Pita – Mall Food Just Got AWESOME

by sara on August 18, 2012

I never think to eat inside a mall because it’s usually fast food slop.  Most of the teeny bopper shoppers love slop so the standards are never raised.  UNTIL NOW!!  Fajita Pita just put all mall food to shame.  They make everything from scratch, make everything to order and have fresh ingredients up until closing time.  I know this because I went there once to pick up dinner at 5:45 (they close at 6pm on Sunday, 9pm Mon-Sat) and everything tasted like they just made it.  Check out their photos on their Facebook page.

Fajita Pita is located inside Collin Creek Mall just outside of Dillard’s in the food court area on the 2nd level.

You will most likely be greeted by one of the owners.  This is Theodore.  He is a hilarious, super friendly Greek guy with tons of experience in the restaurant business.  Theodore greets us by name and wants us to love his food as much as he does.

This is my Dad and this is how excited he gets over Fajita Pita.

My dad is a big dude.  He is 6’5″, can palm an NBA regulation basketball and is solid muscle.  Okay maybe not all muscle but he is a growing boy and needs his nutrition.  Theodore made him a fajita burrito bigger than a baby rhino.  Each pita or burrito is brushed with olive oil and grilled in a press.  It makes it soooo good.

Here’s how Fajita Pita works.  You first select whether you want a pita, burrito, plate or salad.  Then you pick your savory protein:

Gyro ($5.95)
Chicken Gyro ($6.25)
Steak Fajita ($6.95)
Chicken Fajita ($6.25)
Falafel (Vegetarian) ($5.50)

Next you can choose what style you’d like or you can build your own by choosing from any of their fresh ingredients.

Greek style: Tomatoes, Onions, Lettuce, Tzatziki
Mediterranean: Tomatoes, Onions, Pickles, Red Cabbage, Hummus
Fajita Pita: Grilled peppers & Onions, Red Cabbage, Lettuce, Pico, Smoked Chipotle
South of the Border: Rice, Beans, Grilled Peppers & Onions, Lettuce, Pico, Queso

My favorite menu item is the fresh falafel pita Greek style.

Jason’s favorites are the gyro and fajita chicken.  We have yet to try anything here that we don’t like.

They also offer delicious sides like seasoned french fries.

How about some fresh made hummus along with house made pita chips?  How about one of everything because you can’t go wrong?

WHATEVER you do, DO NOT leave Fajita Pita WITHOUT ORDERING HONEY PUFFS.  Okay?  It’s very important that you listen to me on just this one thing.  I mean just look at the golden nuggets before you.

They are so light and fluffy and delicious that there is no way these are bad for you.  On the contrary.  They are now a crucial food group along with fruits and veggies.

I am extremely lucky to live close to Fajita Pita so I can have it on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis.  Please do yourself a favor – go to Collin Creek mall – walk past Sonic and their greasy slop and stop at Fajita Pita for the most delicious mall food you’ve ever had.

I use to go to Collin Creek mall all the time. My ex-boyfriend use to work at the PrimeCo kiosk at the mall. For some reason I really never feel like going there but these pitas look mad good yo!
